About this transcript
The transcript records arguments on six pretrial motions, including spoliation, reconsideration, motions to compel, and a request to extend discovery. Statements by counsel are advocacy, not judicial findings.
Why it matters
At page 18, counsel for Sean Stevenson acknowledged that his client had deleted at least ten to fifteen text messages and had lied about it in his first deposition. At pages 24–25, defense counsel acknowledged possessing a forensic report from Lisa Stevenson-Allen’s phone that had not yet been produced. At page 36, the court observed that the plaintiffs had learned during the hearing that the report existed and had not received it, and said it would consider that fact in deciding whether to extend discovery. Pages 36–43 record the parties’ competing positions on additional discovery and the timing of summary judgment.
Scope note
This page describes what the transcript records. It does not treat statements by counsel as independent proof of disputed facts. The court’s written rulings should be consulted for the court’s findings and decisions.
