Behind the cartoon

Marie Stevenson, a plaintiff in Stevenson v. Stevenson, says she had shared her cancer diagnosis in Fergus Falls only with medical personnel. Judge Kevin M. Miller included the diagnosis on page 34 of his December 6, 2022 order while addressing a dispute over access to her medical records. Her account of limited local disclosure and the diagnosis’s appearance in a public court order are the two events being compared.

Underlying records

The order date, printed page 34, and quoted sentence were checked against the original local court PDF and Justice-Denied's existing public order page. The account of Marie's prior disclosures in Fergus Falls was supplied by Craig Stevenson in this draft request on October 17, 2026. Doc. 505 is cited by the related analysis; the original declaration was not used as primary verification here. Full source PDFs remain local. Fictional scenes illustrate the contrast between personal disclosure and a public order.

More record detail

Judge Miller’s December 6, 2022 order, Doc. 366, printed page 34, states: “Defendants later learned from the deposition of another family member that Marie has been diagnosed with cancer.” The surrounding paragraph discusses medical discovery and says the plaintiffs supplemented records while maintaining that those records were irrelevant and privileged, citing Doc. 343, paragraph 13.
