Panel 1: THE DESTINATION
Miranda sits upright at a civil deposition conference table with a folder labeled WHAT HAPPENED TO MOM. A generic fictional attorney sits opposite with a closed road map. Miranda looks serious and apprehensive.
Miranda: I came to explain what happened to Mom.

Panel 2: THE ROUTE
The attorney unfolds an absurdly large road map on the table. A looping route passes CLOTHES, MUSIC, and SIDE ISSUES, bypassing the plainly marked destination WHAT HAPPENED TO MOM. Miranda traces the detour with her finger; the map is an imagined metaphor. Miranda looks serious and apprehensive.
Miranda: We seem to have missed the case.

Artwork caption: SATIRE · Imagined scenes and dialogue · Based on Miranda Stevenson’s account.

Behind the cartoon

Miranda Stevenson says she expected her first deposition to address what happened to her mother. Questions about clothing and music instead felt like a detour. The invented road map turns that experience into a visible route around the reason for the case. This second set portrays Miranda with serious, nervous expressions.

Underlying records

Based on Miranda Stevenson's first-person description of the questions she was asked and what she expected the deposition to address. The map, scenes and speech are imagined satire; they are not a transcript. Expression revision of cartoon 4932. Miranda is serious and apprehensive, reflecting her nervousness about her deposition. Original scenes, dialogue and source basis retained. This is a new private review set.
